Athens Airport (ATH) serves around 12 million people every year and was a major development in Athens. This stylish, new airport is located 27 km / 17 miles northeast of Athens city centre with good connections. The airport is very much state-of-the-art, with the latest technology and equipment. Athens Airport has two large terminals, a main terminal and a secondary satellite terminal with boarding gates. Passengers at Athens Airport should check in at the main terminal. There is a covered walkway that connects the Main Terminal with the airport's Satellite Terminal.

Athens Airport (ATH) by Train - Athens, Greece
For rail destinations in northern Greece and Europe, trains leave from Larissis station. Trains for the Peloponnese leave from Pelopónnisos station. Both stations are in the city centre. Service is restricted to domestic destinations and is slower than road travel. The railways are run by the Hellenic Railways Organisation (OSE).

Athens airport can be easily reached by car. From the centre of Athens, travel along Vas Sofias Avenue, off Syntagma Square, and then along Mesigion Avenue into Marathonos Avenue, which conveniently leads to the airport.

Taxis are readily available at Athens Airport and the taxi rank can be found just outside the arrivals hall. Athens taxis are a very inexpensive way to travel, particularly when shared with other passengers, which is often the case in Athens. The taxi journey should take around 30 to 40 minutes to travel into Athens city centre, depending on traffic.

There are four bus routes that connect Athens with its airport and these operate regularly throughout the day and night and the journey time is between 20 to 50 minutes.
